Hi, I have the Lariat model of the truck listed above Ecoboost. When I open my door the clicking noise immediately starts and seems to stop after the truck is turned on. I haven’t noticed a change in the A/C or heater. My A/C is a dual control temperature version. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. Tommy

The fact that you mentioned the A/C tells me you think it is an air door in the HVAC system? If that is case then I would agree however, can you get a recording of the noise so that we can hear it?

The fact that this start when you open the door would make you think it is a relay but hearing it should help determine that.

On your truck, the HVAC control module will run the doors through an actuator test which is how it learns the stopping points. It is unclear when it does this test but it very well could be as soon as you open the door so that by the time you start the vehicle that test is completed.

Let us know if you can get a recording of this and we can go from there. Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply. I will get a video of that and send it to you. I will say, that I think I found the problem. I crawled under the driver side dash and visually saw the actuator as it was trying to move a white lever, and also laid my hand on it and could feel the popping. I also got the actuator to act up again and pulled fuse #46 which stopped the popping.

I will get the video so you can hear this noise. Thank you again for your reply.

Tommy

Sounds great. Thanks for the update. That video would help others that may have a similar issue just for them to confirm they are seeing the same thing you figured out. Even if you can't get it, we appreciate the update. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
