I recently took my car in to the dealer for a ticking sound under the hood of my van. I was told that when they changed the oil it went away. I was also told that it sounds like it is an engine lifter going and if I have anymore problems with it, to bring it back in. What is an engine lifter and how much does that cost to have it fixed?

You'll want to exhaust all other avenues before this one! Oil pressure should be check before replacing these lifters. ENGINE DISSASEMBLY is required to chang it! They are installed in the block, and head removal is needed! Have a Chyrsler master ASE tech look at it.
