Started knocking 2 days ago. Discovered it was 3 quarts low on oil. It is not leaking. Put oil in. Knocking has become worse. Really bad when accelerating. I just checked the oil and it is 1/2 quart low already. It has not overheated. The oil light never came on. The check engine light is not on. I can feel the knocking in the gas pedal as I accelerate.

If it is engine related, knocking is either a rod bearing, or wrist pin on the connecting rod of one of the pistons. You will need to install a crankshaft kit or just get other engine.

I crankshaft kit will cost about $1600.00 while a used engine should be about $2500.00
