2004 Chrysler Town and Country Struts and Bushings

When I drive on a bumpy road, it sounds like something is loose and is hitting the bottom of my van on the drivers side. I have been told that struts and bushings need to be replaced at the cost of $1300.00. I do not have the money to get this fixed yet. What will happen if I do not get this repaired? Would it damage the tires or cause me to loose control?

Wow! I don't know where you live but struts (installed) with alignment is around 200 dollars. What bushings are they saying are bad? The most common cause of the noise you have described is strut plated (bearing) located on the top of the strut. It is the part that bolts to the tower. Let me know what bushings they are talking about so I can let you know what to expect. Also, do the bounce test on the struts. Bounce the front of the car with your hands, and it should stop bouncing withing three bounces. If it doesn't, then struts are needed. If it does, there is nothing wrong with the struts.
