2001 Chrysler Town and Country sticking power sliding door

2001 Chrysler Town and Country 6 cyl Automatic 111000 miles

The passenger side sliding door on my Town and Country doesn't like cold weather. It works fine in warm weather, but as soon as it gets below forty degrees the door won't open. If we open it, it doesn't want to pull back fully closed and will sometimes open and close itself repeatedly. I have read that loose weather stripping can cause this problem, but I can't find anything loose on it. Anyone out there encountered this problem?

Did anyone ever figure out what this is about? I've been having this problem every year and am really tired of it. The dealer says I need to replace the latch assembly for $500.
