The fuel gauge is going down to "Empty" when it had just been filled with gasoline. It will not register when it is newly started. This is the second time this has happened. The first time the vehicle was in Park, when it was taken to the service station, they said that a connection was loose. Now when it is in Drive the fuel gauge intermitently registers and then drops.

Hi:
A common problem is the fuel gauge float. The only problem is that it's part of the fuel pump in the tank and to fix it, the pump needs replaced too. The pump is around 200.00 and labor to install is around 3 hours.

I hope thing helps.

Joe
