I have a 1996 Chrysler Town & Country LXI 3.8 liter. About two hundred miles ago my check engine light came on. I put a code reader on and it said cylinder 1 misfire. I replaced the spark plugs and the check engine light went off. I checked the oil and it was full. About two days ago I was driving and my check engine light came back on. Before I could put a code reader on it, the engine started to knock. As I drove home the knocking started to get worse and worse but doesn't seem like I am losing much power. I was thinking it was a broken rocker, frozen value, or even a thrown rod. Any ideas?

Hi:
Is the noise a knock or a tick? Can you tell which part of the engine it's coming from? Is there a misfire when running?

On my Town and Country the push rods have worn thru the rocker arms. It will knock and rattle. Pull your valve covers and have a look. I have a 1999 with 200000 miles though.

Like Jax101 said, you may want to check the rockers. I seen the rocker towers crack and cause a noise. Just a note, it always seems to be on the rear head.
