1999 Chrysler Sebring erg valve/ smell

There is no such thing as erg valve. On the other hand, an egr valve is the Exhaust Recirculation Gas valve. This valve partly controls the emission operations of the engine sending some of the exhaust gas back into the combustion chamber for emission purposes. If the valve is back and not replaced, you will feel erratic idle to start with and to a point that the vehicle will not start if the egr valve completely fails.
