Occasionally our 2002 PT Cruiser acts as if the battery has been removed. The key fob will not operate the locks. Turning the ignition switch does absolutely nothing. Nothing works. No lights, radio, nada. The battery is fully charged and holds up to a load test. The frustrating thing is that after giving up you try just one more time and it starts. All accessories work, etc, etc. ANY BRILLIANT IDEAS?

Thanks.

Your silenod or your starter is bad also make sure you hav good connection on both battery cables make sure there aint no corrosion if so, get a wire brush and clean the cables and battery terminals. I would check the battery first thou before replacing the starter or silenode.

Yeah, after I sent the question I went back out to my garage and twisted the battery cables by hand. The negative was loose enough that I believe it caused the problem. I removed and cleaned both pos & neg cables and posts. I should have known since earlier I replaced the pos clamp with a proper cable end instead of the factory junk that is on it.

Thank you, I appreciate the input. I can't afford a donation now but I will send some after the first of the year.
