2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser help

I change the timing belt and I drive it for a hour and did good then I try to drive it and it will not change the gears it will stay on first gear only

With so many miles on your car, it's possible the tranny was ready to go anyway. Chrysler transmissions are notorious for failing right at 100,000 miles.

First double check all of your sensors/wires/connectors to make sure they're not loose or disconnected. If your computer is reading a faulty signal, it'll prevent your engine from shifting.

Next have your computer scanned with a scanner capable of reading transmission codes.
