Security system wont let my 04 ram 3500 start this is the second time it has happened the first I had it towed and had to get a new key programmed. The symptoms are the same. How do I disengage this problem permantely. I am in the middle of nowhere.

Hi:

The S.K.I.M is programed in the PCM and can not be undone. The system needs to have an accurate RF signal from the key before allowing the vehicle to start, and from what I can tell, without the correct equipment, reprogramming can't happen. However, based on what I read, the system is not activated if the doors are manually locked. Perhaps that may help in the future.
