Ok, the one of the right ball joints went on my 2000 Olds Bravda last summer while I was driving at 45 Mph. Thankfully, no crash and I was able to pull it over. I have a Chrysler service contract that covered the repairs (bought car used from chrysler dealership). They replaced all the ball joints and told me that there was damage from the ball joint failure-hub cracked and front axle cracked. They replaced all of this stuff. I have never had any problems with my all wheel drive, but now we got our first snow and it doesnt work. No 4x4 dummy flashing or lit on dash either. What's the chance this is related to the ball joint failure or repair? What does it sound like to you?

The smart-track system could be having an issue. GM had issues with front diff actuators. You might want to take it to a shop and have the PCM scanned to see if its a wheel sensor or something related to the previous repairs
