1989 Other Chrysler Models Coughing motor

While highway driving at 100 km per hour the motor stutters and coughs, the car is a 1989 plymouth acclaim turbo. Would spark plugs be the issue? If I can ask you for a best and worst case out come of this problem.

You should start with a tune up
plugs wires fuel filter.
