Recently when i was accelerating on the free way, my car started to lose acceleration for about 10 seconds. Once I put my foot on the gas again it continued to work fine. It has also not caused this problem again but does make a sputtering sound on the front left side of my car when I go over any type of bumps. I was thinking this may be the fuel filter and am going to have that replaced tomorrow. I have recently replaced my transmission in the last six months and have had to switch out the alternater when i first got the car. Any help would be greatley appreciated so I don't end up getting taken advantage of at Jiffy Lube.

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pressure?

The noise over bumps has me confused. Are you sure it is coming from the engine and not a steering component?
