I have a 88 new yorker with a 2.2l turbo. I just did a head gasket, timing belt, tune up, map sensor, fuel pressure regulator, it still runs rough, with a small back fire out of the exhaust. If I take the vacum line off the map sensor to the box just below it, the car runs prefect, but then I have no power. I have no idea anymore. I have checked everything

If you have a flame out of the exhaust then the plug is firng when the exhaust valve is open I would suggest re-checking the timing both on the distributor (if possible) and the new cam belt, more likley the distributor as when you remove the vacuum pipe from the MAP sensor the vacuum advance/retard is disabled which would also explain the loss of power. Hope this helps
