Transmission problem
1993 Chrysler Le Baron 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

hello. I have the following problem. When my lebaron is cold or has been sitting for awhile, when I start it it will shift into reverse no problem. However when I shift into drive it can take up to on minute for it to shift. After it shifts into drive it enters limp mode. After shutting off the car and restarting it shifting is normal and smooth, as if nothing is wrong. Can you please help me?

OD trans? Problems with those transmissions is common. If it enters limp mode, but can be reset, your best bet would be to have the trans scanned by a shop to see what trouble codes they can come up with. It may need a computer or it may have an internal issue.A scan should point in the right direction for a fix

Your problem describes those, if you had the wrong transmission oil in it, call your Chrysler dealer to fetch the car, let him read out the transmission error codes at the absolute first.

Then you can decide (if it is not too late already and there are no metal parts in the oil filter already), if you just replace the oil and continue with driving for the next few 1000 miles or if it will be necessary to replace the solenoid first.

But as you tried a certain times already, I fear, it is already too late
