2000 Chrysler Concorde Can't get car in gear

Automatic gear shift periodically will not go into gear. Start car push brake pedal and gear shift does not engage. Continue this procedure numourous times over a 10 to 20 minute time frame and then like MAGIC, something happens and it goes into gear. Getting to be a major headache. H E L P. And Thank-you for any assistance or advice you can give.

PS: You guys we're right on with the last problem I had. Why can't these so called (certified mechanics) figure these things out? I wish you guys were here to fix my automobile problems!

To better assist you I need to know your engine size in liter and the 8th digit of your VIN. Also, is this a column or floor shift model?

Has there been any work accomplished on the car in the are of the shifter?

Have you hit anything in the road that may have hit the transmission area?

When did this start and how long ago?
