Transmission problem
1996 Chrysler Concorde 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

While driving the trans shifts hard and when it trys to shift it will act like it is shearching for a gear but it will just come right back to the same one. Dosent happen all the time just getting more frequent

This may be an electronic problem, either from a computer or input error. Or it may be low on fluid also. How many miles?
It is a 42LE and had problems finding right gear if any problems in computer. You can use a scanner and get codes from both it and the engine computer. Check out the condition of fluid and the level first.
