I have the shop manual and followed steps to remove oil pan. Pan is free but it appears there is insufficient space to allow the pan to be removed. Do I need to jack engine to get additional free space? I have removed the trans supports and inspection plate. It will not clear the oil take up tube and frame. What am I missing?

If this is on the 3.5L engine then you must remove the pick-up tube from the oil pump body.

This is a 3.3. Engine which the oil pick up cannot be removed until the pan has been dropped, the sway bar is out of the way and there is not enough clearance to get the pan out ( unles I am missing something) the Haynes manual says to remove the starter which does not make sense as it is far away from the pan. I am considering jacking the engine, if I do looks like removing 2 bolts at the mount to frame connection. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Can you see what it is still hitting? Probably best just to go ahead and raise engine some instead of searching for other parts to remove.
