2002 Chevy Venture 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 119k miles

The sliding door on the drivers side opens and closes apparently with a cable action. The other day the cable snapped and it is hanging on one end. Now there is a beeping noise that is continuous when I put the vehicle in drive or reverse and it beeps and beeps until I put the vehicle in park or turn it off. It is sensoring that the door is open. Please tell me what I can do to get the beeping stopped. I am on a tight budget and am not able to go to a repair shop at this time but the noise of the beeping is making me upset while driving. Please answer asap.
thank you.

POWER SLIDING DOOR ALARM
The following 3 conditions must be present simultaneously to sound Power Sliding Door (PSD) alarm:
PSD on/off switch is on.
PSD is closing.
Transaxle gear selector is shifted out of Park.
If all 3 conditions exist together, Rear Side Door Actuator Control Module (RSDACM) supplies battery voltage to PSD alarm. To stop PSD alarm:
Return transaxle to Park.
Manually pull sliding door closed and power assist will take over.
Depress PSD open/close switch (in overhead console), right "B" pillar open/close switch (on passenger's side) or press PSD button on Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter to command close operation.
Turn off PSD on/off switch.
If PSD is closed using assisted feature, a pulsing tone will be heard when door is near closed position. This tone is created by RSDACM. This is not a warning from PSD alarm. The RSDACM also uses alarm during diagnostic modes
