1998 Chevy Venture Automatic

My van sounds like it has a helicopter under the hood! It was running OK, occasionaly turning off when i made sudden stops. It suddenly shook, making loud noises as i was parking and turning off. I turned the key and all it did was shake, and made loud cranking noises. I was told it could be the timing belt/chain, I don't know...what could it be!?

Your Chevy Venture seems to be having timing problems, specifically, advanced timing. The culprit could be a worn timing belt or tensioner or both. I would recommend you check the timming to confirm this and if it is, fix that ASAP before it get worse and creates a bigger and costlier problem.
