Does the vehicle have more than one thermostat? The guy that we are considering buying this vehicle from says that the van doesnt "overheat" the heater just needs a new thermostat. A guy from advanced auto informed my husband that these engine are bad about leaking manifold gaskets that cause the thermostat to go bad and eventually the motor blows. I do not want to buy this vehicle and then in a month have me and me 4 children stranded on the side of the road and be out of a van. Thank you

It only has one thermostat. The manifold gaskets should have already been replaced with 164000 miles on the vehicle. Have a technician check why the heater does not work?
