Wiper motor not working

What could be wrong with the wiper motor on a 1984 chevrolet pickup half ton. I get power to the motor except the ground. The wipers still will not come on and the motor gets hot real fast.

Did you try tapping it with a screw driver handle. If it gets hot it has power and the motor is bound up. Most likely you'll have to replace it. Also try moveing the wiper arms while there turned on.
