I have been told that I have to disconnect a brown wire with black stripe before manually timming? Is this true? Just wondering what is the best way and the correct way to do this manually. I use to know how to do this by ear but time has erased it from my mind, any information is greatly appreciated, thanks

Use a timing light! The instructions are in your email!

My 89 has the wire up by the firewall on the passenger side. 95 has it under the glove box near the heater core in the cab. Disconnect and use an inductive pickup timing light to set damper to marks on front cover.
