Brake code

1988 chevy k2500 305cid 62k mi The dash brake light was on steady. I checked the ebrake switch and it seemed to be working fine. Now the light is flashing a 1 long and 6 quick flash code. Could you tell me what my truck is trying to tell me? Thank you

I cleared the code and i'll see if it comes back. Maby it was the code telling me to clear the memory. Lol

Im trying to find something on the EXACT same thing. Gotta 88 chevy pickup the brake lights stays on steady then it will flash 6 times. Did u find out anything?

I couldn't get an answer on that one. What I ended up doing was just clearing the brake computer. It's been about 3 weeks now and no trouble codes have returned. Try clearing the brake computer memory and see if it returns or maby a different code will come up. Maby it was just a brake hickup.

You had to ask. When I had my oil changed they cleared mine with a scan tool and the garage didn't know what that code ment eather. Try disconecting the neg battery cable for like 2 min. That cleares the ecm and should do the brakes also. Let me know what happens.
