Hey I recently bought a 99 chevy blazer. It has 71k miles on it, and has the vortec 4.3l v6. This is a 2 door model.

I am very interested in making this vehicle into a 4x4 offroad machine! I know I can fit a 350 in it, and put a manual trans into it, but what I dont know is whether or not a dana 60 will fit under it. Do I need to put a dana 60 in the front and rear? Will I need a new transfer case? Will I need to modify any of the steering / brakes once I get the dana 60 under it? Will I need to buy a better drive line?

I am also wondering if there is a site where I could plan these heavy modifications, something that would let me select only compatable options and give me part numbers and brand suggestions?

Ok I saw another site where a guy did a straight axle conversion on his blazer, but the tie rods were touching the leaf springs. He was using a highsteer. Is there any way to improve this? How can I do the same conversion and make it so my tie rod doesnt hit the leaf spring?
