I am leaking coolant out of the water pump assembly. I am not getting heat in the cab. Is the pump defective, how do I test it?

When a water pump starts to go bad there is a small hole in the back. That starts to leak letting you know water pump is starting to go bad. You can get a pressure tester at local auto store and check for leaks. The no heat could be it is low on antifreeze.
