I have been having a problem with my 6.6L diesel chevy truck putting out a large amount of white smoke at idle, in reverse, and during heavy excelleration. First I tried changing the oil and still the same. Then I thought maybe one or more of the injectors are bad. I was just wondering if there was anything else I could try before I start replacing injectors which can get very expensive.

I would check the water in fuel sensor and fuel sys for large amounts of water, if you find water in the fuel sys I would clean the fuel sys and checnge the fuel filter. If that doesnt help then I would scan for any dtc's and check the injector balance rates. If all is good then you will probably be replacing injectors. Post back with what you find.
