2000 Chevy Truck transmission wont down shift

I have a 2000 chevy K3500 truck with a 7.4L engine it had a blown head gasket, we fixed that. Now ti won't down shift when going down the road. What could be casuing this?

When you were doing the head gaskets you could damage the wiring loom going to the transmission, double-check your work make sure you have all the connectors back together and that you have not damaged wiring loom
