2000 Chevy Impala, Istrument panel lights dim out

2000 CHEVROLET TRUCK

It's a 2000 Chevy Impala with a 3400 engine with approx 81,000 miles.
When starting the instrument panel lights up, then you hear a click, and the instrument panel lights dim out. All the other guages work, no check engine light, the instrument panel lights just fades out. Can you please help. Thanx

Is the panel dimmer switch on low? Turn it up all the way and try it.

The Dimmer is all the way up, it only lights up when the veh initially starts, then it sounds like a relay click, then it dims out.

Your welcome, I don't know that I can help on that, I looked over the wiring diagrams to see if anything jumped out. (Kinda like when a car quits, the first thing you do is open the hood like it will jump out and tell you :lol: ) I'm not a good electrical guy, but will take another look tonight after work to see. Maybe someone will add there 2 cents before then :)

Go to your A/C accuumulator, at the bottom of it there is a wiring harnes that may have been damaged from chafing against the mounting ring of the accumulator. That is all that I found that my abilities can provide.
