I have a 1998 chevy K1500 with a 5.0 V8 and the check engine light has come on it is reading a misfire. I have replaced the plugs, plugwires, distributor cap and rotor. The check engine light is still on even after I disconnected the battery for five minutes. Also sometimes while driving the truck will go dead but will normal start before it stops. Any help would be grately appreciated

Your engine has poppet nozzles at the ends of the injectors and they get plugged with carbon. You can use high pressure fuel injector cleaner to clear out the injectors, it usually works but if it does not you will have to replace the injector assembly with a new updated one. They have had so many problems they dont even make the original injectors anymore.
