1997 Chevy Truck rear drum driver brake

ive been having a problem when i back up and stop, and then go again the rear driverside drum locks up. but not all the time its happened 3 times in two months. do i need a new wheel cylinder? because when i hit the rear of the drum a few times it will release.

I would say remove the drum and inspect the adjuster, and lever, It may be time for new shoes hardware, and if it were my truck, wheel cylinders too! They are cheap enough nowadays! The adjustment of the shoes is important, if too much clearance is in the shoe to drum contact, parts can slip out of place!
