I have a 1997 1500 chevy truck bout six months ago my timing lidler gear broke and I had that fixed but after that it drove fine then I went out of town for a week and when I got in it to drive it started and idle fine but when you crusie at one speed it starts to jump and carry on and threw up a code bout camshft to crankshalf senor so I replaced both them but it didnt fix it so I thought it could be out of time so I had a machinic look at it was off -19 degrees out so he put it back in time. But now its still doin the same thing jumping and hesitating going down the road but it idles fine and starts fine but it aint throwing up no service engine light now. Do u have any idea what it could be I am clueless.

Is it starving for fuel, ie low fuel pressure, fuel filter or pump? You may have already checked all these, but we have to start somewhere. Please advise. After you replaced the cam and crank sensors, did the codes disappear?

I would change the fuel filter first. To check the fuel pressure you need a gauge that attaches to the fuel rail. Many auto parts stores will lend you one with the fuel specs for your vehicle.

Oh and when I changed those senors it did not clear the codes it still showed up. But when I had a machinic look at it and he saw that it was out of time he clear the codes and they have not come back on so I dont know if he did something for the codes not to come back on or what.

If the parts you changed and the codes didn't come back, the ECM must be satisfied that everything is ok.
