1996 Chevy Truck timing

Where is the brown wire located to diconnect the est to use timing light? Is not around the distributor or fire wall or behind glove box.

On a 96 there is no wire for this. Timing is controlled exclusively by the PCM. The distributor is installed with #1 cylinder at TDC and the rotor pointing to the tab on the distributor base marked with an "8". Fine adjustment (if needed) must be done using a scan tool. If the distributor is installed incorrectly the vehicle will set a DTC of P1345
