I have a 1996 chevy cavalier 2.2 standard 5 speed.
when I brought it in for a new york state inspection the computer would not read.
i was told to drive the car in many diffrent ways, cold starts, hills steady driving etc.
they can only get 2 passing codes the rest still don't read after 400+miles
Whats next a new comp and if so will it read or do I need to drive some more
Thanks, kelly

Sounds like the PCM could be having a problem. Yes it will need to be driven to reset the monitors

Take a look at the pcm, These were common for water intrusion. Here in NY the water can freeze in them and bust them open. It is located on the passenger front corner of the car, in front of the wheel well.
