I am constantly nagged by this belt problem. I have replace the idler pulley, the tensioner pulley, the fan pulley, and the alternator. Finally the guy at the parts store said cheap belts are more prone to squealing and sold me a different belt that was supposed to be better quality and not inclined to squeak. It was great for about 4 days. The belt seems to be tight enough, but the noise continues.
Hunting season is soon upon us and I am desperate to quiet this truck! What do you suggest might be the problem I am missing?

Because of the grooved design, a serpentine belt has to run perfectly straight. Even if something is new, it has to be straight to work. Usually you can look at the belt from the side & see what isn't in line.

We don't see anything out of alignment. Is there a better way to tell if something is out of line?

Take the belt off and be sure all pulleys spin freely and don't have loose bearings
