On cold starts my trk starts normally, when the engine begins to warm up I begin to hear a metal on metal noise [like a clicking&grinding] slowly gets loud.
as it warms up and begins to make noise it starts to leak coolant around the upper radiator hose connection. No oil in the water, throttles up strong and smooth, plenty of power on the road, not using much oil. Water pump itself is not leaking though.
does this sound like it could be a water pump?
thank you

After it gets loud, shut it off, and go out and see if the fan blades can be wiggled in toward engine on one side, and away on other side, if play is felt, replace pump, bearings are making the noise, and soon pump will leak. Tighten hose clamp, or replace cracked/old hoses!
