1989 Chevy Truck charging system

1989 Chevy Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

battery is good, connections are good. Alt is only putting out 12 volts. No power coming off harness of alt. New alt is new, old one tested @ 14 volts but bearings were bad.

The new alt sounds bad. Have you tried replacing it?

I haven't changed the new one yet, but I had the same problem with the old one and tested good. There is a silver slow blow fuse in the fuse box, for the battery, I haven't changed. The 30 amp green fuse for the battery is good. The only reason I kept the new alt was the bearings in old one were making noise.I must be overlooking something.
