1987 Chevy Truck valve rattle

87 chevy V-10, 350 with granny four speed, at 3000 rpm I get heavy valve rattle, if I push through it, it goes away around 3500 rpm, when I back off and then get in it again it starts again at 3000 rpm and the engine light comes on and it runs better than ever, can you help?

Sounds like the oil pump may be getting weak, or maybe you need to set the valves
