1987 Chevy Pickup 5.7 TBI

I ran it low on gas. Put gas in it, wouldnt start, so I started hitting things in the engine compartment. It started up fine. I replaced the fuel filter, still nothing. I can pour gas down the TB and it will start but it dies. Help please.

You maight have to check the screen on the fuel pump, it could be clogged, or the pump is now dead.
