1981 Chevy Truck Remove 15 year old oil filter...

I am restoring a truck that has been sitting for 15 years. I am having a really tough time removing the oil filter. It's been on the truck since it was parked. Any suggestions? Its got the old strait 6 motor. Anything will help. Thanks

Hi there,

There are various oil filter removal tools on the market, but i find for very tight filters the broad belt type works best, try this.

I agree but i would also spray some wd40 or something like that around the gasket area and let it soak for a while.
