hey guys, I've got a 1980 chevy pickup with a broken frame, I found a frame for sale but it is a 1988, will my cab and box fit this new frame?

Welcome to the forum, I was just curious, Is it possible to weld the old frame back together? I don't know if the 88 frame will work?

Hi, I swapped frames a few years ago with my 1980 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup cab and bed onto a 1988 GMC 1 ton 4X4. It can be done and it fit when I did it.
As long as you have the right frame for the truck (same size cab and bed) you shouldn't have a problem. There might be some minor mods to do to the rad support mounting but nothing more than drilling a hole or 2, if there is a broblem.
