Head Lights and CAB Light not working

The pull switch for the headlights is not working. The headlights don't come on and the cab light won't turn on either. The floor switch does not turn on the high beams either, but maybe the pull switch is bad. Would this cause the problem and if so how do I replace it? Would the floor switch being bad cause the cab light to not turn on? Thanks

Well I replaced the dimmer switch and the headlight switch and still no lights. I was looking for the headlight fuse or relay and can't find it. Anymore ideas. Thanks

If your floor switch is bad it can cause your headlights not to work. Unplug it and see if they come one. If they do replace the switch on the floor. The cab light can either be burnt out or a fuse maybe blown. If the headlight switch is bad, there is a button to push on the bottom of the headlight switch and pull the knob and shaft out. Then unloosen the escutcheon on the outside of the dash and the headlight switch comes out from the bottom of the inside of the dash. But the instrument lights are controlled by knob as far as dimming and it also controls the cab light.

So my lights must have short somewhere. My dims can work forever, but 20 minutes later on the road at night I was cruising with my high beams on and all my lights went out. I had to wait five minutes for them to come back on. But my dims don’t short out the lights, only the high beams. I have a brand new light switch an floor switch.

Hi,

Is your vehicle the same year make and model as listed above? If it is, have you checked the connection at the firewall where the main wiring harness attaches? There could be a loose or corroded connection. If that is the case, it can cause extra heat to the circuit and result in a lost connection until it cools.
