Engine Mechanical problem
1979 Chevy Truck 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

1979 chevy c-10 pickup, 250 inline 6, 2barrel carb. Truck will turn over but will not crank up. Carb rebuilt about a month ago. Auto parts store seems to think it could be the choke is stuck. Is the choke pull-off what would control the opening and closing of the choke or is it another part in the carb? Never been to good mechanically so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

How old are your spark plugs? After rebuilding the carb there was probably a lot of fuel that went down the motor, the plugs are wet with fuel. Try different plugs and the truck will fire up. Then adj. The carb as needed.

You can look on top of the carb and see if the choke is sticking. The top butterfly is for the choke if its opened the choke is off, closed and its on. Make sure you are getting gas to the engine, Did the carb fail. Will it start with starter fluid?
