I have a 400 trans. That I just overhauled and it was doing fine now it will not shift in to 3rd. I have checked for vacume leaks linkage position fluid level and all seam to be fine. The motor is a 427 and it is built up a little. I hope you can help. Thanks. Shannon

If all your checks are good -- and the tranny ran after the overhaul -- then change the tranny fluid and filter again. Check for a smell or sight of burnt tranny fluid. If the new clutchs didn't soak in tranny fluid overnight (during the overhaul) they could have worn a little causing a clogged or sticking valve.
Make sure there are no vacume leaks.
