I have a 94 S 10 Blazer 4 wd, I am replacing the transmission filter and gasket. I have removed the pan and cleaned it, and attached the new gasket. I removed the crossbar but I can not reattach the pan because there is no clearance for it, between the filter and the exhaust crossbar. How can I fit in back in there correctly?

Typically you push the filter into the receiving hole sideways. Then once the filter is in as far as it will go, twist it around to the correct position. If you got it out, it must go back in.
Let us know how you make out.
PS the filter you bought should have install instructions with it.

Don't overfill the tranny fluid. Keep in mind there is still at least 1 quart in the lines and torque convertor.
Call your local GM dealer parts department. Ask them how much fluid is required for your vehical. Once you have at least 2/3 of fluid in, start up unit and bring to normal operating temp. Don't drive it yet, but make sure you are on level ground. Add fluid slowly and a little at a time to get to the correct level.
