2004 Chevy Trailblazer speedometer question

The speedometer on my Trailblazer starting not working properly yesterday. While driving it yesterday, when you made a complete stop the speedometer does not fall below the 25-30 mph range. This morning when I started it the speedometer was at the 55-60 mph range while parked in my driveway. I have no idea how fast I am going while I am driving. All the rest of the guages are working. What could be causing this problem? Is this something that is simple to fix?

Either the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is bad or the IP, check with the dealer on any TSB's concerning this problem, it may have a recall on the problem.

How can you determine exactly which vehicle speed sensor needs replaced. I have just spoken to a auto parts store and was told that there are more than one on my vehicle.

Check with dealer parts dept. One may be PCM feedback while the other is speedometer gauge.

I would still check with dealer on the IP recall. I seem to remember some ongoing problems with Trailblazer/Envoy IP's going bad.
