I just got a 1997 Blazer and it was driving fine for the first couple of days. Then all of a sudden the "Service Engine Light" comes on, and the transmission act's weird only some times. I took it to get it smoged and 4 codes came up. I talked to the person I got the car from and he said that he did some research and found that there could be a lose wire by the transmission. Does anyone have any idea's on this?

Possible but. Im gonna guess you have (shift solenoid problem and trans component slipping) as at least 2 of your codes. Unfortunatly the list of updates for the inside of that trans is as long as your arm. Valve body and other "hard" parts most likely need to be updated if the trans has never been done

In addition to possible shift solenoid issues, this vehicle's shift pattern is affected by throttle inputs. So if the throttle position sensor is not accurate it will cause erratic and harsh shifting. The fact that this is not consistent poor shifting points to this as an issue. As you will see from the attachment there are 6 possible codes related directly to the TPS so you could have issues here and maybe one or two of the codes are more as a result of the issue rather then a cause of it.

Please review this info and reach out with questions or the DTCs that are in the system.
