Wiper motor definitely shot. I unhooked it from the wiper arm and turned it on. Nothing. Plugged in new wiper motor and it works.
Installed new wiper motor completely, turned it on, nothing. Unbolted motor from frame, turned it on, motor turns.
Unhooked it all again and tried to move wiper blades by hand. They are very hard to move even while pushing back and forth on the wiper and the arm that connects to the motor.
This indicates to me that the arm assembly is having a problem. Perhaps it needs lubrication or to be replaced?
I am betting that this assembly seizing up and becoming so hard to move is what burned out the old motor in the first place.
Any advice on handling the arm assembly is appreciated, thanks.
