Removing the glove box

My vehicle is a 1999 model. Need to remove the glove box door ( with attached box) in order to retrieve disabled person's placard located there. When she slipped her placard into the glove box it slid over the top of the box and is out of reach behind and in the nest of wiring, etc.

Taken from GM service manual.

1. Remove the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the IP storage compartment check strap.
3. Remove the IP storage compartment door.
4. Remove the IP storage compartment.
Squeeze the compartment in order for the compartment to release.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
